TEACHING WEB DESIGN

The rapid growth of web technology makes it difficult to keep students current on new methods.

I try to engage students in both the creative, communication side of the web and the ‘coder’ side.

TEACHING ANIMATION

In the 11 years I’ve been teaching about animation I’ve been thoroughly impressed by what high school students are able to create. Students have been really passionate about their ideas and telling their stories in animated form. That’s the first lesson I want every student to learn. It’s not about the technology. It’s about great stories, interesting characters, and creative original visuals.

TEACHING GAME DESIGN

There are now several free programs that allow students to enter the fascinating world of game development. We now have courses in every year from Gr. 9 – 12 related to this field. Game development is a lot of fun and almost as addictive as playing games.
